Good Afternoon everyone! Last March 31 during the Tribute to Parents and Teachers, I was tasked to give the Parents Response on behalf of the Home School Association. Grade 10, do you still remember (I assume you were listening attentively) the acronym P.M.A. as an institution and P.M.A. as parent perspective. Well, if anyone of you, still recall it, may I challenge you to stand up and tell us about it. Anyone who wants to accept my challenge? No one. No one. I will give a special token to any Grade 10 student who can still recall it. No one. Going,,,,, going….. going….GONE!
Let me summarize it. As an institution, P stands for Prayerful, M stands for Mission-Oriented and A is Accomplishment Driven. Partido Mission Academy is prayerful in accomplishing the god-ordained mission in providing quality Christian education that push the institution to accomplish more in all aspects of the students development Being parents, P.M.A is Partnership, Mindfully-involved and Achievable Goals. We need to be the institution’s partners in praying, in molding our children wholistically by intentionally involving ourselves in their cause and realistically setting achievable goals by putting pressure yet with pleasure and enjoying not enduring their journey as life’s learners.
Grade 10 students listen to me. Look at me ! Focus on me! FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS! In attending moving up ceremonies or graduation rites, the speech that might be lengthy, might be boring, might sound uninteresting in your perspective is actually the most important message you will ever hear. Therefore, pay undivided attention when the guest speaker is delivering his or her speech.
Parting they said is a sweet sorrow! Sorrow, because it is our realization that bidding goodbye is a painful one as we have been accustomed of our togetherness.However, its also sweet to think that we will still meet again. That is exactly what each of you is feeling right now or during the Tribute that’s why you turn to being emotional. Well, moving up is more than that. Moving Up is looking up. I believe in the saying that “there is no way by UP.” There is no way but up indeed. We grow up. We move up. We train up! One day, each of us will die, no one is an exemption. So we go UP in heaven above. Yes! Death is surety. No matter what you have, how you live your life, how much riches you have accumulated. Death will one day come your way.
Grade 10 students, as you face moving up to senior highschool, it is a must that you GROW IN GOD’S MISSION. The crucial question is Do you know God’s Mission? Why did Jesus send His only begotten son JESUS CHRIST on earth. The answer: THE SALVATION OF HUMANITY FROM THE ETERNAL CONDEMNATION OF MANKIND IN HELL BY PUTTING OUR 100 PERCENT TRUST ON JESUS CHRIST ALONE AS OUR LOVING SAVIOUR, LIVING MASTER AND EVERLASTING LORD. I will repeat as this is very VERY important. Jesus’s mission is THE SALVATION OF HUMANITY FROM THE ETERNAL CONDEMNATION OF MANKIND IN HELL BY PUTTING OUR 100 PERCENT TRUST ON JESUS CHRIST ALONE AS OUR LOVING SAVIOUR, LIVING MASTER AND EVERLASTING LORD.
Therefore, Jesus did a magnificent mission! He was victorious in fulfilling it. The accomplishment of His mission is the reason why we will one day GO UP! To heaven and live with Him forever and ever in eternity, the most beautiful place, where no one can never ever imagine, where there is no more pain or suffering or crying.
After 4 long years in the Partido Mission Academy, have you ever thought of your mission in life? What is your purpose ? Are you here on earth to eat now and be merry for one day you will die anyway? Why are YOU temporarily place on earth for a short period of time? Does it truly matter if you live your life to the fullest (F U L L E ST) or FOOLISH? ( F O O L I S H)?
Young ladies and young gentlemen, Living your life with a defined mission aligned to God’s Mission is life’s most significant venture you can be into. Let me tell you how you will accomplish your mission and honor God in doing so. By Remembering MISSION IS P.M.A. ( P period, M period, A period)
FIRST: (MISSION IS PMA) MISSION IS PURSUING MORE ASSERTIVELY
SECOND: (MISSION IS PMA) MISSION IS PERSERVING MORE ATTENTIVELY
THIRD: (MISSION IS PMA) MISSION IS PREFERRING MORE ENTHUSIATICALLY
Lets discuss them one by one:
First:
Mission is PMA. Mission is PURSUING MORE ASSERTIVELY. In life, young ladies and gentlemen, whatever you pursue is something that your heart is desiring to. You pursue someone is your interested with him or her. Remember, your first crush or maybe your puppy love. Imagine the days when you were pursuing her, you pursue her with a purpose in mind to win her. You did it assertively, not aggressively. You make ways to find her interests and her passion. That is also the same in your mission, you pursue your mission more assertively. You exert concerted and collaborative and coordinated efforts to make it into reality but you do in passionately. Your mission as student, as a young professional someday need to be accomplished with one thing in mind. Pursuing it passionately with little pressure and more pleasure. In this way, you will be excited, energetic and enthusiastic in life.
Second:
Mission is PMA. Mission is PERSERVERING MORE ATTENTIVELY. Earlier, I told you, look at me, listen to me, FOCUS! FOCUS! FOCUS! Mission is focusing on your desired output or outcome with persevering attitude. To perservere is to continue doing things even if pressure is squeezing you harder and harder to the point of almost giving up. James 1:3-5 says because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. Your maturity will reach to another higher level as you go on with Jesus as your SENIOR PARTNER in pursuing SENIOR HIGHSCHOOL . I will give emphasize, JESUS as your SENIOR PARTNER in pursuing SENIOR HIGHSCHOOL.
Again, may I ask, who is your senior partner in pursuing senior highschool? JESUS!
Ask God to guide you through praying that solomonic wisdom be granted unto you as your persevere in life with an attitude of Christ-likeness in every situation. Focus your eyes on Jesus! Remember of the lyrics in the song TURN YOUR EYES UPON JESUS.
Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face,
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace.
He is the perfecter of our faith. Be an audience of One! The ONE who seats on the throne who controls everything. Give thanks to God, who always leads you and me in triumph in Christ ( 2Corinthians 2:14)
Third:
MISSION IS PMA. MISSION IS PREFERRING MORE ENTHUSIATICALLY. Do you still remember your kindergarten song that says. Im awake, Im alert, Im alive enthusiastic (2x). Im alert, alive, awake (3x) enthusiastic. When you have a mission in mind, in life. You have to prefer it over other things. You need to set your priorities. As you journey towards senior highschool, temptations will come in your way, left and right. In subtle forms of internet addiction, social media extreme fascination, substance abuse addiction, being indolent in your studies, unnecessary peer pressures and many more . The enemy, the devil, the deceiver acting like a roaring lion ready to devour will find his ways to steal your joy, your concentration as he doesn’t want you to be victorious in life. But do NOT loss heart. With Jesus by your side as your senior partner, HE will guide you. As what JESUS has said in Philippians 4:7 6Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mind in Christ Jesus . Stand firm in the Lord. As life’s learners, you need to prefer matters. Life is a matter of preference. Whatever your mind can conceived, you can achieve. The bible says 8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.…
Whatever is true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think on these things. Therefore, my dear Grade 10, let your minds and heart dwell in this matter. Then and then, you will free yourself from the slavery of sinfulness because the opposite of these words are unpleasing in the eyes of God. Preferring goodness over evil as eversince the world began, goodness triumphs evil.
To summarize my talk: Just remember MISSION IS PMA.
